For Professionals
Resume Preparation
A clean, factual healthcare resume format recruiters and facilities can read quickly.
What to include
- Full name, city and state, phone number, and professional email address.
- Profession and specialty at the top, with total years of experience.
- Licenses and certifications with the issuing state and expiration month/year.
- Work history in reverse order: facility type, unit, dates, and core responsibilities.
- Education, including school name, credential earned, and graduation year.
Formatting that works
- Keep it to one or two pages and save it as a PDF.
- Use consistent month/year dates and explain any long gaps briefly.
- Describe your unit and patient population — facilities look for setting-specific experience.
- Avoid graphics, columns, and photos; they can break automated resume parsing.
Before you submit
- Proofread names of facilities, credentials, and dates carefully.
- Confirm your phone number and email are current.
- Attach your resume to your VitaLink application along with your credentials.
